Unique invention eliminates cross contamination and waste
GloveU Hygiene Platforms AB, a Swedish innovation company, launches a patented system to apply disposable gloves. The GloveU DT100 automatically applies the glove on the hand in less than 3 seconds. The system reduces cross-contamination by 99%, saves one workday per user per month and reduces glove waste to near zero.
Over 100 billion disposable gloves are used every year and demand is rising. The costs of poor hand hygiene are high, especially in the food and healthcare industries. The Swedish Food Agency's food poisoning reports show that poor hand hygiene is the second most common contributing factor to food poisoning. In the EU the annual cost of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) is €7BN and results in 16 million extra days of hospital stay and 110.000 deaths[1].
The inventor Håkan Löfholm got the idea while waiting at a deli counter for the clerk to apply disposable gloves manually and slowly before serving him. Why not have a machine do it instead, he thought. This could save time, improve hygiene, and reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
The GloveU DT 100 will be in production in May 2023, sold initially in the EU and the UK followed by global availability. It can be ordered now through the company’s website www.gloveu.se. or please contact info@gloveu.se for a demo.
“Why has it taken so long before we merchants have access to an automatic glove donning machine? Pulling on the gloves manually is a stone age occurrence. Absolutely amazing.” says Conny Holmström, Manager ICA Supermarket (major grocery chain in Sweden)
